Lala Simpson grew up in the exotic Island of Madagascar where she was immersed in its dances and songs, which she has continued to share once moving to New Zealand. She is very passionate about sharing her culture with others. Since then she has taught West African dances, led dance and singing workshops at seminars, music camps, choirs and schools, led workshops and performed at International Dance Day, Cubadupa and Africa day. Currently she is the choreographer for the Wellington Community Choir, dances for The Moringa dancers and is one of the tutors for Community Education Centre at Wellington High School, teaching dances for Madagascar.

"Lala has a great sense of humour and an incredible patience, she uses instruction that everyone can understand and she is a pleasure to look at as she so enjoys dancing herself, in a way just to see her dance makes you feel like dancing. Lala is a born dancer "

"I have worked with Lala several times as an attendee at dance & song workshops, as well as hosting her in Palmerston North. I have always found her very professional, thorough and so delightful to work with. Her infectious personality and charm is intoxicating! Her beautiful voice and clever teaching technique makes working with her inspiring and very uplifting. Grab any opportunity you can to work with her! "
